That old screen door...

Updated: Sep 12, 2021

A door consisting of a frame with some type of netting that allows air to pass through. Typically when let go would make a distinctive sound shutting.

Morning has arrived once again and God has provided us with another day. It is a pretty incredible thing when you really think about it.

My mind sort of time traveled this morning. I thought back to a much simpler time. A time as a child that we would go to visit my grandmother. I remember how soothing the sound of that old screen door at her house was. I can vividly remember the screeching sound and with the hinges and the spring attached the door would snap back and the loud noise that would derive from that old screen door was quite sound. I am grateful for memories. Champions, fast forwarding to the current time in our world today where the noises aren't soothing. Where they might even whisper to the ear, sneak up on us but scream within our spirit. A time that without God, is spinning out of control. I thank God this morning for giving me that memory of that old screen door. I thank him for taking me back to the memory of a Godly grandmother, a praying grandmother. A time when many challenges or differences were settled on a front porch that had an old screen door. A time where God's word solved many problems. Yes, thank you Lord for those precious memories of that old screen door.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:1
