Worldly distractions that can make one believe that there is always the next best thing around the corner.
Hello Champions, I pray all is well your way. Wanted to share with you this evening as it's been a while, so here goes...
Shiny things...I used a picture of three of my kiddos and me for this post. I chose this picture for two reasons.
The first> this photo has always made me chuckle the bright shiny smiles that remind me of a toothpaste commercial.
The second> because, I am a praying mama and I don't want my children to always be chasing the next shiny thing.
A little latitude this evening please? This world has a way of planting ideas and thoughts that can make us continuously look for additional things we think we need to be happy.
Stay with me... Always looking for the next best thing. Yes, those things that truly don't hold any substance.
The things that when we leave this world stay right here, they get left behind.
You see, too often we hold on so tightly to things that can vanish tomorrow.
Material possessions are just that. Don't get me wrong, I am truly blessed and very grateful for everything God has given me. This includes my material possessions that I have here on planet earth .
News flash they were and are God's. I have just been entrusted with them.
Over time I have come to realize that material possessions do not provide true happiness. True happiness is only found in Jesus. He has given me so much more than tangible items. He has given you so much more Champions.
The things of this world will grow strangely dim as we strive for eternal rewards.
So as I close this post,
I encourage you not to grasp those shiny things too tightly while here in the nasty now and now.
After all, we are just pilgrims passing through.
This is not our home.
Keep looking up Champions!
