Selfishness

Concerned excessively with oneself: seeking or concentrating on one's own advantage, pleasure, or well being without regard for others.

Good morning Champions! May today bring you a state of selflessness. May you have many opportunities to build another up and to be a bright light in a world that demonstrates self seeking more often than seeking the Lord!

Selfishness, this is an ouchy. Taking it back in time a bit. The terrible twos, we've all been there. Either with our children or keeping it real, we were once two. I use this analogy because it takes us to a place of the "me mentality" very quickly. Words such as mine and give me that. Then let's not forget the tantrums that go along with it.

Point is, at a very early age selfishness raises its ugly head.

The opposite of selfishness is selflessness. This doesn't mean to be a doormat. Champions this means to be a difference. To be confident and bold enough in who we are that we can be the example someone else just might need to see. Too often we walk with a self seeking agenda. Today, let's flip the script and walk with a mentality of servant hood. Let's make a conscious decision together to put others first in love. You might not even have to go far, it could be within your own home, with the relationships that are closest to you. Practice selflessness with patience and love, you just might like the results. Be blessed and be a blessing!

Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy or boast. It is not proud, it does not dishonor others, it is not self -seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs.

1 Corinthians 13:4-5
