Old photographs...

Tattered and worn images... memories of the past, that tell a story and capture a moment of time that has since gone.

This morning as I begin my day, my heart is feeling a bit nostalgic. I suppose it was brought on by the passing of one of my uncles this week. As I reflect back over my childhood years, and remember my mother's side of the family, I can't help but to smile ( great memories)...

my mother had 7 siblings, so as you can see, a house full of love and crazy chaos was the normal. Oh the stories that she shared. My mom was the oldest of the clan and has went on to be with the Lord. This week God hand picked another of the eight and my uncle, now joins my mom in heaven, along with 4 other siblings. Three siblings remain here on planet earth, to tell the family stories and share the legacy.

I suppose I'm like many others, when someone in your family passes it stirs up memories and a time that has passed.

My mother was a picture person and she had just about covered every spot on her walls with them. The picture on my blog this morning is actually my mother's mom and dad ( my grandparents).

I have come to realize that my mom's pictures were moments captured in time of people she loved. I have to chuckle now when I think of my mom's walls. Each picture told a story and made her heart smile. To her, they were priceless.

There is just something about an old photograph.

I guess you can say the apple didn't fall far from the tree, because I am worse than the poparazzi when it comes to taking pictures.

Pictures ( like my mom) make my heart smile as well.

Time certainly doesn't stand still, and one day> the Good Lord willing...the only thing that might remain is those old, tattered, and torn images of days gone by.

So take those photos every chance you get and appreciate the ones that have been passed down to you over the years from your loved ones.

Those pictures tell a story, and yes...I bet you even had a starring role in that story.

I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body.
