Much is said in silence

The gap between words where the truly important stuff is formed, created and brought to fruition.

I pray today brings you enough Champions! I challenge you to stand firm in the midst of those silent moments you encounter today. Seek the lesson in the silence and grow! Sometimes silence speaks much louder than words.

This morning I selected what we actually hear in silence. Sometimes, we are so busy talking and using our words that we totally miss what is really being said. I challenge you today as I am myself... to concentrate on the gap between the words. To practice the pause and think before engaging our mouths. It's like anything else, the more we practice the better we become at something. Speaking from experience, there has been times I have said something and once said, regretted saying it. Getting comfortable in the silence is a very powerful step in growing our communication skills. Don't get me wrong, I'm not stating to keep quiet if it is something that truly has to be expressed or explained. However, even in those moments, when we practice the pause before speaking, we communicate far more effectively.

I'll share this quote with you this morning.

Wise men speak because they have something to say; fools because they have to say something. There is certainly a difference.

Set a guard oh Lord over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips.

Psalm 141:3
