Melancholy

Updated: Jan 7, 2022

Feeling deep sadness.

Champions, may you rejoice in the day ahead. Look to God and allow his light to shine in and through you today.

Melancholy...

You might ask, why that word? Here goes, someone I love very deeply is currently going through some things. Actually, the words used when we talked yesterday was...being in a funk.

As I listened, I could relate to that feeling a time or two throughout my own life.

Sometimes, after the Christmas decorations are packed away and the New Year excitement has passed, Melancholy can creep in. A deep sadness, but nothing really to pin point it on.

The result>>> in a funk.

As I thought over the aforementioned conversation, I knew the best place to go was to God in prayer and to his word for strength. My loved one needed a prayer warrior to stand in the gap and pray for the funk to go away. There are so many promises in the bible, coupled with commands to combat the funk.

So, Be encouraged. If this time of year leaves you a bit melancholy, know that joy comes in the morning.

During those times find a prayer partner and hold tight to your faith.God is there always and in every season. In his strength you and I can kick melancholy to the curb.

I'll leave you with JOY as an acronym this morning...

Jesus Over You!

For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.

Psalm 30:5
