A person's true value lies inside and is recognized in their spirit and their actions towards others.
Waking with an easiness this morning. My mind traveled to my inner self. As I entered the bathroom and saw my reflection staring back at me in the mirror, I stopped for a moment. I couldn't help but think...God sees my inner person. He looks past all the outward stuff and goes straight to my heart.
I can remember as a child, my mother saying...
"Don't judge a book by its cover."
It took me quite sometime before I really understood what that meant.
Today as I reflect back over the years in my life, I think of times that I did judge a book by its cover. Interestingly enough, more times than enough, those flashy covers that caught my eye weren't always what they were cut out to be.
In a world that tries to dictate to us... how we should look, act, and feel.
If we're not careful, we can lose our uniqueness. Champions, shiny on the outside isn't always a good indicator for what lies on the inside. I encourage you to embrace your own inner beauty and protect it. Protect your heart.
For today humility sounds pretty good with a splash of kindness.
After all, what's in the inside is what really does count!
But let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious.
