Habits

A settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up.

Like a blank canvas Champions. Here we are Monday... Let the choices begin!

Habits, good or bad we all have them. Some of the givens would be... what we eat or drink, exercise, sleep, brushing our teeth, what we do with our free time, where we go, the list goes on!

As I took personal inventory this morning of my habits. Some I certainly want to keep but and there often seems to be a but (there are some I'd like to purge.) How about you?

Habits bad or good can be broken. I've often heard 30 days is the typical time frame to make or break a habit.

The good ones, hold tight to those. They are the ones that keep us grounded. Cool thing is, there is always room to add to our good ones.

The bad ones, yikes! Breaking them, letting them go... We all know within ourselves the ones that jump out that need our immediate attention. But beware, some sneak in and while it's happening we don't realize the damage it's doing to us. For me some of the less conspicuous I've identified are- time wasters, procrastination, excuses! These are probably the 3 highest on my list and can be elaborated on in far more detail but we would be here awhile. Be honest with yourself, what are those habits you are dealing with that steal your joy? Recognize them and confess them honestly. Don't allow them to block your blessings, to hold you hostage. Now comes practice and repetition, together let's add a good habit to our lives and strive to break one or more that's holding us back! Believe and achieve! We can do it!

I don't understand myself at all, for I really want to do what's right, but I don't do it. Instead, I do the very thing I hate.
