Happy 4th of July Champions! Can we join together for a moment before we begin and say Happy Birthday America?!
I thought freedom was a fitting topic on so many different levels for today. Living in America we are blessed to have the freedoms we have. I encourage you to take a moment today to reflect and remember those that came before us to make us the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Now to dig in to a different kind of freedom. ( spiritual freedom)
We were created with freedom of choice. God did not make us to be robotic. We have the ability, the freedom to choose how we will live our lives. You see only when we have the freedom to choose does love really become real. God gave us the ability to either choose obedience or disobedience.
Keeping it real this morning Champions, for me that disobedient thing has never worked out in my favor. If we lived in a world with no guidance, no direction and yes no rules just imagine how it would be. Too often we know the rules and even the consequences if we break them and still do it. If you can't say amen just say ouch!
Now I'm going to shift this freedom thing just a bit. There was this man, he came to this earth, he gave His life so that each one of us could be free from sin and live eternally with Him. I know this man. I pray you do too! This man is Jesus! If you don't know him, I strongly encourage you today to reach out to Him in prayer. If you do know Him, thank Him today for the ultimate gift of freedom He freely gave! Be blessed and be a blessing!
There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for a friend. Let's pause for a moment today to be humbly grateful for Jesus! Let's be humbly grateful for all who have served to protect us and to protect our freedom!
Let's embrace our freedom and use it to demonstrate love in a world that so desperately needs it!
