Excuses

A reason or explanation put forward to defend or justify a fault or defense.

Middle of the week Champions! As we begin this beautiful day that we have been given let's embark on a topic that I believe it is safe to say is or has been relatable to each one of us at one time or another.

EXCUSES!

Yikes, this one right here pops up like popcorn! I have found that our/ my background, life situations and daily choices impact the invitation to make an excuse. Craziness!!! I don't know about you but I have found myself making excuses about the most absurd things. Why? I believe I'm attempting to justify to myself why I am choosing not to be accountable for that situation or circumstance.

Can you relate Champions?

Excuses began way back in the garden and viola!

Excuses become comfortable but not

Productive. We often talk ourselves out of becoming all we were created to be by making excuses! The lie becomes very believable to us. Here's a few to ponder:

I'll start tomorrow.

I'm not qualified to do that.

I don't have time.

I'm too busy.

Wow! Have you used any of these? I know I have. When we begin the journey of taking ownership of our actions, the excuses begin to disappear. Accountability is something to embrace in order to grow not something to avoid. Today let's make a conscious decision to be stronger than our excuses let's identify instead of deny and be accountable together. We can do all things through him who strengthens us!

" He that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else. "

Benjamin Franklin

And the Lord God said unto the woman, " what is this that thou hast done?" And the woman said, " the serpent beguiled me and I did eat."

Genesis 3:13
