Both the rose and the thorn...

Symbolic of achievement, completion, and perfection. Both beauty and sorrow combined.

Thursday is here and the day is about to take flight. What a great day to be alive Champions!

Reflecting this morning about the beauty that is brought forth in the spring.

The rose came to my mind...

Such a beautiful flower that comes in many colors. Yet within that beauty, there lies the thorn. An important lesson can be learned from a simple rose. Life, can be compared to the rose. We experience both the beauty of it and the pain that is intertwined as well. If you think about the symbolic nature of the rose it is quite intriguing. We go through this life, with beautiful experiences and we also go through sorrow, through pain. I believe we can get absorbed in the pain if we remain focused on the thorn. Is it safe to say, what we focus on is what comes to fruition? Don't get me wrong, we know and are well aware to beware of the thorns. Being prepared, helps us to handle those thorns with caution and care. Then within the same rose, you have the beauty of the flower. The fragrance of the flower. The flower that bloomed right along with the thorn. Yes, we can relate to the rose. Our life has both pain and pleasure but combined together, it truly is a beautiful thing. Ending with this...allow God to do the pruning and the growth within you will be an amazing thing.

"The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature." Luke 8:14 (NIV)
